Tam Tam Recording Studio biography
Hybrid studio for recording, mixing & video
An inspiring space where musicians and engineers create together

After a period of successful collaboration with Juan ‘Bulu’ Viloria – during which Tam Tam Studio became renowned as a leading hub for Latin and Global Music – a new chapter begins. Drummer, bandleader and producer Lucas van Merwijk now joins forces with versatile sound engineer/drummer Jasper Verburgh.

Together, they bring a unique blend of experience, passion and innovation. Van Merwijk, internationally praised for his musical versatility and creative vision, and Verburgh, with a sharp ear for detail and a deep love for the craft of recording and mixing, are taking Tam Tam Studio to the next level.

A major addition to this new phase is the option of multicam video registration of recording sessions. This way, not only the music is captured, but also the magic of the recording process itself – perfect for artists who want to present their work powerfully in both sound and image.

Tam Tam Studio is a hybrid studio: an inspiring place where digital precision meets analog warmth. Recordings are made in the DAW of choice. For mixing, various analog flavor makers are available as an option – including tube compressors, tape echoes, spring reverbs and creative re-amp techniques. The result: a mix that not only sounds great but breathes and reflects the soul of the music.

The studio consists of one control room and a recording room, equipped with a drum booth and a small booth for vocals, percussion or other solo instruments. This setup creates direct contact between musicians and engineer – without barriers, with maximum energy and creativity.
